A quick question about USB Mouse in Slackware

Okay I'm trying to get my USB mouse working on my laptop. At the moment in /etc/X11/XF86Config for my laptops trackpad it has:

# Identifier and driver

    Identifier "Mouse1"
    Driver "mouse"
I'm going to add this in additon to the above:

# Identifier and driver

    Identifier "Mouse1"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
    Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
    Option "Buttons" "5"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
What I wanted to know was can I do this, have two mouses installed? because I still want to use the trackpad.

Try protocol "auto" first.
