A combination of sound cards

I have just picked up a cheep ($5) subwoofer from a friends place but am having troubles getting LFE working on my system, I have a few problems.

Here is my current setup:
nForce 2 based sound: Not used but i know it supports LFE through the mic port...

Yamaha DS-XG: Used for speaker output, has enough volume to push my stero speakers.

I am under the impression that my card dosent support LFE, because there are no options in its section in asound.state, however on the back of the card there are 4 seperate ports...

The nForce has the following so it looks like it does support LFE:

Code:

control.38 {
  comment.access 'read write'
  comment.type INTEGER
  comment.range '0 - 0'
  iface MIXER
  name 'Mic As Center/LFE'
  value 0
 }

Probably another thing to note is that the sub is powered (via power cord) so it only needs minute volumes compared to the unpowered speakers. Also note that the nForce is not loud enough to hear on my stereo speakers and i cant stand the sound that comes out of those little battery powered ones.

Im running LFS 6.0, 2.6.8.1 kernel, ALSA 1.0.7, I also have esound if that may be usefull.

Question is, can i hack some LFE support using one of the unused ports on the Yamaha DS-XG? Or perhaps even use both cards, the Yamaha for speaker output and the nForce for LFE?

I can submit my entire asound.state if nessicary...
