A cheap load balancing router or switch

I am looking for a cheap load balancing switch or router for my home. I can not use a PC running Linux. So if anyone has any suggestions let me know.

You might take a look at the Zoom ADSL x 5.

I have one and am hugely pleased with it.

It is an ADSL modem with 4 ethernet ports, firewall, switch and router. Also has a DHCP server. All very easy to set up via your browser.

It runs my little network: All computers can access the internet, ssh and nfs between each other, and nobody seems to be able to hog all the bandwidth.

Here is a link to their site:

.. and no, I do not work for them!

Talking cisco load balancing router

Why not try the cisco load balancing routers? I use one at home and it works like clock work and have solved all of our traffic volume and quality issues. Hope this helps!

@madhornet,

Why have you decided to resurrect a thread that is 5 YEARS OLD as your first post to LQ ?

Please don't do this again, and in future, let sleeping threads lie in peace.

Otherwise, welcome to LQ.

I am sorry I wasn't aware this was not proper etiquette. I will not do this again in the future.

Apologies accepted. Mistakes happen. Don't worry about it.
