6831 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1366.200 FPS

kyle@linux:~> fgl_glxgears
Error: couldn't get fbconfig
kyle@linux:~>
This came about while trying to play UT2004...I have installed the ATI driver for SUSE 9.1, I have enabled AGPGART, the system is using ATI's drivers(fglrx).
I can play the UT2004 demo with no problems...when I try to open UT2004 though, it is a different story...
Code:
kyle@linux:/usr/local/games/ut2004> ./ut2004
WARNING: ALC_EXT_capture is subject to change!
Xlib: extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0".
Signal: SIGSEGV [segmentation fault]
Aborting.

Crash information will be saved to your logfile.
kyle@linux:/usr/local/games/ut2004>
I have no idea what is causing this. All of my other 3d games work without any problems...any ideas?

What does the logfile show for UT2004. You probably did not have enough space left on /local or /tmp to run UT2004. You can try uninstall UT2004 and all of its config files. Then reinstall it.

Which resolution are you running?? Those values of glxgears are quite low for your Radeon....

Did you add or edit the line in XF86Config or XF86Config-4
Quote:
Section "DRI"
Mode 0666
EndSection
Did you try running UT2004 as root.

my DRI section:

Code:
Section "dri"
# Access to OpenGL ICD is allowed for all users:
    Mode 0666
# Access to OpenGL ICD is restricted to a specific user group:
# Group 100 # users
# Mode 0660
EndSection
this is the output when I try to run UT2004 as root:
Code:
linux:/usr/local/games/ut2004 # ./ut2004
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

No dynamic GL support in video driver

History:

Exiting due to error
linux:/usr/local/games/ut2004 #
I am a little confused about the dynamic GL support bit...not sure what is goiong on there...

The last error when trying to run as root is just saying that you don't have access to the X server display. It's owned by the user that started X. If you really want to run as root you can go to a command line and type(as the user, NOT as root) "xhost +localhost" without the quotes. For some people this won't work and you'll just have to allow anyone to access the X server display (BAD IDEA) to do this type "xhost +"(/BAD IDEA). I'm sure someone knows a better way of doing this. For the UT2004 problem, have you run fglrxconfig and do you have the radeon module loaded?

I get the same error here with my 9800 pro and ut2004.
another problem: when I get this message, most of the time, the game crashed after graphics got screwed up (like every polygon is being stretched way too much.

I get the same error (mandrake 10 in ut2k4) whenever I start to load a map, the Xlib: extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0"

I'm running with a 9200SE. however, when I run fglrxinfo, this is what I get

Code:
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: RADEON 9600 Generic
OpenGL version string: 1.3 (X4.3.0-3.11.1)
is the graphic card mismatch causing me trouble?

I heard in another forum that installing the latest patch from the unreal tournament website fixes these problems. I'm having them and I'm gonna try it tomorrow. See if it works for you.

Question Unreal demo

I have been using mandrake 10.1 for a couple days now, installed the demo without a problem, but when i run it the splsh screen pops up says UT2K4Demo then just disappears will not open game. Does anyone know what is going on. Oh and this is the first linux machine I have ever tried so I know basically nothing so please don't get too complicated in the answers. or just tell me like I'm a retard that might help also.
