Hey everyone,
I am building a new Linux box and would like to take advantage of my home WLAN (and not have to run a lot of Ethernet cable), currently going through an 802.11g D-Link wireless router. After doing some quick web research, it looks like there is not a whole lot of support for 802.11g under Linux (yet). I plan on running Red Hat 9, but I have run Mandrake and a few other flavors before so would consider it if necessary. As far as I can tell, the only 802.11g drivers are supplied here:
Linux Drivers for the 802.11g Prism Chipset: ruslug.rutgers.edu/~mcgrof/802.11g/
From the supported card list, it looks like the SMC EZ Connect G Wireless PCI Card <smc.com/index.cfm?sec=Products&pg=Product-Details&prod=291&site=c> is the only PCI card that has been verified as working. My question is, does anyone have experience with these drivers, or even more paticularly, this card? I am considering buying it but would like to hear some about before hand.
Thanks!
