3ware 8000-series question.

WHen rebuilding a kernel for use with the 3ware 8000-series cards, what all needs to be included?

I omitted SATA support since I am pretty sure 3ware is seen as a purely SCSI device (like the AHA24xx series) so I only included the kernel driver for it.

My system freaks and reboots halfway through the kernel boot though, about the time it needs to be mounting the root FS as far as I can tell. So I am missing something.

I am just pulling the 2.6.8.1 kernel source down and building it. I am using the basic archlinux 2.6 based install, so I shouldn't have to change my fstab (the device it's mounting shouldn't change).

The default install of archlinux is happy, so I am confused as to what I am messing up.
