3ware 7006-2 raid controller on Asus P2B P2 system

hi all,

I have two ata133 disks lying around I'd like to put in a raid configuration. unfortunately the older pentium 2 system I'm running (asus p2b motherboard, PCI rev 2.1) has slow ATA controllers so I can't benefit from the harddisk performance. so I thought about buying a 3ware 7006-2 RAID controller and installing that on the Asus P2B... the problem is, I don't know if the card will work because I've tried before to install a wireless network card from Belkin and apparently the card was a newer PCI spec. I'd like to know whether it will work before I put down some money for this controller... ?

thanks in advance!

The card is standard PCI. It will work fine. The card handles the drive detection, even though your motherboard can't. By the way, that motherboard is a real POS- if you don't mind me saying.
