try running the command:
$ glxinfo|grep rendering
If it's set to yes then there's something wrong with the app. If it's set to no then there's something wrong with YaST and/or driver.

It is set to "No"
In Yast's SaX2 X11 configuration, under "monitor", "ACTIVATE 3D ACCELERATION" is checked
So then is there something wrong with my driver?
P.S. I have NOT installed anything from ATI, only what is currently on the suse 10.1 dvd.
So I dont know what needs to be done, and im sorta lost, any help is welcome
Thanks,
Davis

You need to install an ATI driver that supports 3D DRI and then enable it in X. Not sure what driver comes with SuSE 10.1, but searched the SuSE forum right here on LQ for "ATI driver" and got a page full of helpful threads.
