3d drivers for 16 and 32 bit modes?
I know that the Radeon drivers from ATI's website only support 24 bit mode, and that's fun, at least, when the games that you're playing support 24-bit mode. However, other games, like HalfLife, do not, and that's why I'm bringing up this question. When I use xfree's stock radeon drivers, I get 16 bit mode without any problems, but as everyone knows, they don't do 3d too well. I also saw in some of the template config files for xorg.conf that there's a 32 bit mode supported by X. Now are there any official drivers that support either 16 bit or 32 bit modes for Linux and also support 3d properly?
