3c509 card won't use right interface

Hi everyone.

I have a firewall/NAT/etc box that has 2 3com 3c509 cards in it. For some reason, the card formerly known as eth0 (io=0x220) refuses to use the 10baseT interface, and comes up using the BNC connector instead:

From dmesg:

Code:

eth0: 3c5x9 found at 0x220, BNC port, address  ff a0 ff bb ff 4d, IRQ 5.
This card, until recently, had been chugging away just fine using 10baseT. I've learned that you can hand the 3c509 driver an "xcvr" argument to specify which connector to use, but I can't seem to figure out the magic smoke to get it to work.

Fedora Core 4 box, one NIC at 0x220 (eth0), one at 0x300 (eth1). 3c509 is listed in an lsmod, but with 0 under "used by".

uname -a:

Code:

Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4 #1 Thu Jun 2 22:53:35 EDT 2005 i586 i586 i386 GNU/Linux

I have another 3c509 on the way via eBay, but would like to figure out if I can get this one to work or if it's just hosed.

(the 3c509 on the way only has a 10baseT connector.)

Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Forgive me for the bump, but I wanted the morning rush to see the question.
