How do I get 16-bit or 32-bit color mode enabled in the ATI drivers? When I simply try to change from 24 to 32 it errors. I am pretty damn new to this sort of deal, so if it is something simple, be kind!
Just trying to get some better performance. Does anyone know any way to tweak the XF86Config-4? Presently have a 2100+, 512 2700 RAM and a 9000 pro. UT2k3 runs terribly just like Army Ops, while they run perfectly in windows.
Do you have the ATI driver installed and configured correctly? Performance should be at or above windoze performance for the games you mentioned as long as the ATI driver is installed and working properly.
I remember having a problem with the gamma file. I thought it might be permissions just now so I tried running ut2k3 as root. The game runs perfect at high settings for a while then bogs down. I tried underclocked in case it was a heat issue(which I haven't had before) but the problem has continued. Other games run fine. Going to re-install Army Ops to test it as root. I can't remember where the file is to chmod it...
