2 simple questions about TV tuner cards
Hey all. For awhile now, I've been thinking of getting a TV tuner card. However, I'm not sure which one to get.
1. Does anything in Linux take advantage of a card with hardware MPEG2 encoding?
2. Which card should I get? I've been looking at the Hauppage WinTV PVR for the most part, but it seems awfly expensive, and is pretty hard to find. Is there a decent alternative that might be less expensive and easier to come by?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

well, I've been looking at a few more cards, and I'm thinking about the Leadtek Winfast TV 2000 XP Deluxe. It looks like it has the features I want (well, all but hardware mpeg encoding) and I see mention of a "Leadtek Winfast" card in the bttv compatability list. Does this card work well?

if it's in the compatability list then it works... it's not reall a case of wether it works "well" or not... it uses that chipset so it uses that driver.
