2 monitors

I use Redhat version9 and Xfree86-4.3.0. I have an onboard vga and another graphical card and 2 monitors (microscan 3e/ADI and Philips CM0200 (14B)). I have changed my XF86Config file, but it still won't work. Just one screen works. What could be the problem?

Here is my XF86Config

Can we see the /var/log/XFree86.0.log to see how X is detecting everything, you may have to split the file into two posts.

dummoi 08-09-2004 02:58 PM

I'm sorry I did forget to give it, but I don't know how it comes but I changed the default screen in my bios and know it works. Do you know why?

Here is my log file (when I had the problem).

I changed the default screen in my bios and know it works. Do you know why?
The card was not being initialized properly without the change in the BIOS. BTW it looks like you can get 1152x768 with the ATI card if you want so if the i810 will support it you can have that for the resolution on both monitors (assuming they support it as well) looking in the log file should tell you if you can do it.

Code:

(II) ATI(0): Not using default mode "1152x768" (width too large for virtual size)
