2 monitors, 2 video cards, multiple terminals?

I'm fairly new to Linux but I'm learning quickly. I'm running dual-boot with WinXP and Debian Stable.

I have an ATI AIW 9800 Pro AGP card (which works fine) and a Matrox Mystique PCI card hooked up to a 3DFX Diamond Monster 3D Voodoo 1 PCI card (which I haven't yet got working. I installed these after my initial implementation of Debian onto my computer so I don't know if it's automatically detecting them or not. I'm guessing no. Are there drivers for these in Debian already by any chance? If so how then do I activate my second video card setup? But I digress). I'm wondering if it's possible to use both video cards to display different terminals in any scenario: like 2 command lines, 1 command line and one X, 2 X desktops within a single login, or even 2 X's with different logins. Everyone seems to want to get a single extended X desktop spanning 2 monitors which is useful, but I'm more interested in having seperate terminals displayed in 2 monitors. Is this possible?

there's an article I bookmarked a while back because I was just too impressed with what you can do with a Linux box, it might be handy info for you.

Build a Six-headed, Six-user Linux System

Obviously that's more than you need, but the principles should be the same. Google suggests the "voodoo" driver is what you want to use for your 3dfx card. Matrox has GPL drivers don't they?
