16 processors?
 

Does anyone know of any Linux (Redhat) hardware platforms that support up to 16 processors and 128GB of memory? Dell can't do more than 4, and I'm looking for a competitive alternative to IBM/AIX.

If Intel Itanium is your thing check out these HP servers.

I believe that IBM has some Power based Linux servers that support 16 or more processors too.

Must be nice to have several hundred thousand dollars to spend.

Yes, just looking for alternatives. And hundreds of thousands are much more attractive to spend than
the millions that will be required for IBM/AIX.

It's a large enough deal for our vendor to begin to support Linux. I'm not sure if there will be that big
of a difference on the high end though. (ie: something w/Linux as opposed to using IBM or Sun)

As IBM has been one of the core OEM's supporting Linux on it's enterprise class architectures, I thought you would have gotten this info from your vendor. The alternatives are numerous. SGI, HP, NEC, Sun, Microway, and many others offer multiprocessor, and massively parallel systems designed around Linux on Intel or AMD. You've got many options.
