I'd like to use Ubuntu or Kubuntu 6.06 on Dell Latitude X-1 with 12 in. wide display (1280x768)

Also, I have an external USB Audigy 2 sound

does your video card have support for this resolution? can you paste the portion of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file, under monitor/display/device?
re: sound, i think we should work on one thing at a time, or start a specific thread for the sound. thanks
