128 GB formatted Memory Stick not showing up for installation and not all clear.
I have a Sandisk 128 GB memory stick, I formatted it and cleared off an encrypted OS, Kodachi. When I want to install onto it an new edition, it does not show up for installer, as an option beneath something else in install options, it shows up as a 17 GB drive.
I used this short video to format it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9A1-NeXfJU
In Mint it comes up as 128 GB free, 32.8KB used, type, msdos.
Is there any way to fix it for install?
I'd like to put two operating systems on it. Portable OS.

Lots of 'fake' pendrives on sale these days, I couldn't do anything with mine, except to bin it!

Try using gparted or another partition manager you are familiar with to create a new partition table since you don't have any data on the device.

Let me guess - a slow usb-2.0 disk drive? It figures. When you do the sums, you'll be a long time putting 128GB on it. My fake was a 2TB unit. I calculated it would have taken most of 2 days to put 2 TB on it. I binned mine because the write was too slow.
Some dweeb is selling these off in different cases with various specious sizes attached. They are probably made up from cheap bits in China or somewhere.

I assume you mean a new version of kodachi. If you use one of the recommended utilities it will overwrite the drive. If want to put multiple live versions I would recommend ventoy.
I would not expect a SanDisk drive to be fake.

What I did was to rsync a pile of videos on my fake drive, and monitor usage in terms of files/directories copied. It was holding an impossible amount until a reboot. when it only held 16G overnight. If you have a return option, exercise it.

It seems I only had to unmount it.
But as I was going ahead, my battery ran out of power and my charger from Dell is broken. I have a much older one that is bigger with the same size connector, but I am afraid to plug it in and try in case it burns out my laptop.
