02Micro 6912 Carbus controller Not working

Hello all

I am prety new to linux and am having a blast learning!!!!!

I have recently installed a distro onto my laptop and cannot get it to recognise the pcmcia controller or cards. I have found the controller under PCI devices listed as : 02:04.0 Carbus Bridge: )@ Micro, Inc
0Z601/6912/711E0 Cardbus/SmartBus controller. It shows a memory address at 32 bit and IO windows. also a 16-bit legacy interface port.

When i select the pcmcia devices it says: No PCMCIA controller detected.

Any ideas??

Thanks fro your help!!
