I get exactly the same problem on the Promise 378 installed on the motherboard in my system. The TX4000 is apparently compatible with this. As ASUS (the manufacturer of my board) blatantly refuse to reply to any mails I send them I thought I would try and contact Promise. Amazingly I got a reply 20 minutes later, but all the guy said was;
I wish I was able to give you more advice. The problem is I do not know as we do not support onboard controllers.
The reason is that we do not know if and how the chips are changed by the motherboard manufacturer and if the specifications and performance have changed.
I suggest to try different jumper settings on the hard drives, or take all jumpers off, and if that still does not make the drivers recognisable then contact your motherboard vendor for support on this.
So if you guys have actual board from promise, maybe you should speak to this guy (Stefan Zegers) at
support@promise.nl
Maybe if he wont speak to me he'll speak to you!
