@Play wired Xbox 360 controller not recognized by xboxdrv?

xboxdrv reports:
No Xbox or Xbox360 controller found

jstest-gtk does not show controller

flightgear does not respond to controller

lsusb reports it as:
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 24c6:fafa
(no description text)

xbox button flashes all 4 leds.

Linux Mint

Searches/questions/advice/further reading suggestions appreciated!

Downloaded source from here:
https://github.com/xboxdrv/xboxdrv

Added line to xpad_device.cpp:
{ GAMEPAD_XBOX360, 0x24c6, 0xfafa, "" },

Compiled by Github instructions and now works.
