'input signal out of range' (blank screen) using hp vs17 monitor when running ppracer
Everything works normally while using a crt monitor. I have now been using a flat screen lcd monitor (hp vs17) that works very well in the kde desktop. But when I try to run ppracer or extreme tux racer, the screen goes blank and the music plays. I connected the old crt monitor and everything is fine. The default resolution is 800x600 in extreme tux racer, so I changed it to 1280x1024 because that is the resolution the hp monitor wanted. I connected the hp monitor back while tux was running on the computer and I could now see extreme tux racer, but the monitor went into sleep mode anyway. I am assuming that the monitor was not getting the proper signal it needed. Short of using my old monitor, can the resolution of x-window be changed so I can play ppracer or etracer without affecting the kde desktop resolution?
