'evdev' on Fedora for Logitech mouse.

Hi all.

Has anyone here managed to get the 'evdev' input driver working on Fedora Core 3? I'm very soon going to be in possession of a Logitech mx-510, and I'd like to have all the buttons working.

At the moment, I've got evdev compiled into my kernel, but X won't start if I have my mouse driver set to "evdev", complaining that the evdev driver doesn't exist. I get:
Code:
(EE) No Input driver matching `evdev'
in the xorg logs.

Cheers.

Dave

Hi there ilikejam,

The evdev driver is within the kernel. I am using kernel 2.6.12 with Slackware 10.1 and own an mx1000 Logitech mouse. I have not managed to configure all the buttons yet, but am using the evdev driver with xorg.

check here for some extra info

cheers

Hi.

Cheers for the link. It appears my version of Xorg (6.8.2) isn't recent enough. That would explain it.

Thanks again.

Dave
