Zotero bibliographic software: transferring references

I have installed zotero standalone on Debian Stable Linux and its firefox plugin. It is working well and I have added a few references. I now want to copy these references to another computer which is also running Debian Stable Linux. Where are the references stored and can I just copy them from there to new system? How can I change the folder where these references are stored? Thanks for your help.
