No, you shouldn't use too many repos because you cause conflicts. Some repos have tried to address this by joining forces so that they don't duplicate packages that are already in other repositories. Also some repos replace essential system packages with their own and this is also causes problems when you try to do upgrades using packages from other repos.

Most definitly they can cause problems. Dag doesnt have FC4 listed on it's site so I dont know if its any good for FC4. Some of the others havent been updated for awhile. You can try to repair it or reinstall it and leave off the bad repos. I added Debian repo to my Xandros and turned it back into Debian. Good Luck
