Xwindows cannot logout

Hi,

I'm using Slackware 8.1 Intel Extreme graphics card and a compaq computer.

After startx, when I click to logout, the screen went blank. Even cntrl-alt -backspace doesn't help.

I'm using VESA.

Help.....

I looked at my XFree86.0.log file.

I got a long list of these 2:
VESA(0): Splitting WC range: base: ...... size:....

VESA(0): Failed to set up write-combining range (.....)
