Xsession: Login for rmccain is disabled

Hello,

I installed SLED 10, however when trying to login to X, I get:

"Xsession: login for rmccain is disabled".

I configured SLED 10 to use eDir for authentication. I know that works fine because if i login as the person
i entered as the admin for the LUM piece of it during the install,
that person can login to X fine. I then su to any user, then su to
another user which prompts me for a PW and that works fine.

Any ideas?

As root, you might want to see how the users on your system are set up. The software that you installed might need root to explicitly enable it for a regular user before that user can use it.

Xsesssion: Login for user XXX is disabled

i was encountering this error with a fresh Suse 10.1 install, when starting up a Gnome session with a NIS user account - turns out the problem was that the NIS shell was not in the local /etc/shells. i think this is a fairly generic error that can be caused by any number of situations, including perms and ownerships.
