xscreensaver sets system clock back four hours
 

Whenever I am afk for a while and my screensaver (run by xscreensaver; I'm running rh7.2 with X, gnome and sawfish) will set the system clock back by exactly four hours, right when the first "new minute" ticks by after I come back to the keyboard. (The screensaver could be on for a minute or all night and it still happens.)

Note that the hardware clock is just fine -- its easy to fix the system clock with a `hwclock -s` -- and surely I can set up a cron job (every minute) with this to hit a flea with a hammer.

But what is the cause? Something is probably conflicting with xscreensaver, but I don't know what. (It isn't apmd, the advanced power management daemon -- I uninstalled it.)

Also note that I'm under (USA) Eastern Daylight savings Time, which is five hours behind UTC.
(the hardware clock correctly reflects my time zone). The system clock, when misbehaving, is nine hours behind UTC.
