I downloaded this
http://www.hellion.org.uk/xmms-status-plugin/ and I got it working, but I want to remove it from the KDE panel, and just have it in the system tray. It it possible to do this?? Thanks Don |

Anybody? |
The XMMS-status-plugin is available through contrib! save the time and energy for installing a tarball. Use the rpms specific to mandrake when possible.

How do you get it to work after compiling and installing?

Ok to answer the original question. I don't think it's possible at this time. I use a different workspace for xmms (and other multimedia stuff), I find that works best.

Like Tazlinux said, you can have the system tray icon but it won't remove xmms from the taskbar. So no, xmms can't be minimized to the system tray.

Is there no other way to have it minimized into the system tray? :(
|
I wish there was. But I'm afraid not.
|
No, I am afraid it cannot be done

this goes on my x-mas "list of wishes"... ;)

:D Ours too, I guess :)

you cant minimize it, but you can keep it open without showing up on the taskbar. i put the xmms window behind a karamba theme and it works.
to launch xmms without it showing up on the taskbar(or any other prog for that matter) Code:
kstart --skiptaskbar xmms |
