XML monitor script?

Hi there,

Does anyone know if there's any way to monitor xml performance?
There's a function on an application which runs on Unix. That application uses an xml function which looks like this:

objXMLRequest.open "POST", GetConfigValue(urlName), False
objXMLRequest.setRequestHeader "Content-type", "text/xml"
objXMLRequest.send XMLDocument.XML

XMLDocument.loadXML objXMLRequest.responseText

Now my question is. Can i build a script that uses this function and times the result. I was already thinking about this:

Writing an xml document with the above text in it. Then opening it using lynx and timing the process like "time lynx......" etc.

Could anyone please help me?

Thanx in advance,

Vipzz

Okay the situation changed a bit now.

I now have to monitor a .asp page. So the XML gets posted to the asp page where i have to test how long it takes to respond.

Is there another way to do this instead of lynx / elink and so on? Like a Perl mod?
