XM Satellite Radio

Is there currently hardware and software that would allow a person to listen to and record XM radio from his computer? I am designing a Mythtv box (www.mythtv.org for those not familiar with the technology) and would like to add XM capability to it. In theory if I could get an XM receiver integrated with the Mythtv box, I could listen, record, catalog, and rip content from the sattelite radio. Does anyone have any knowledge or insight on this?

Yes you can get xm for your PC.
The three places I would check in order are:
1. Google.com
2. Ebay.com
3. Freshmeat.net

Google to see if it exists.
Ebay to find the going price.
Freshmeat or google to see if there is software compatible with Linux.

The product I believe you are looking for is XM PCR.
Looks like they go fo about $50 -$150. Depending new/used/what comes with it.
I found this through freshmeat:
http://www.ximba.org/ximbaradio/ximbaradio.html

http://www.beerboys.com/OpenXM/

I know of mythtv. I have never used it. I am not sure how easy it would be to integrate this with it.

I am not sure the legal ramifications of ripping from a XM stream.

If you get this working please do me a favor and post your success here.

Regards,
Blair
