Hi, you can set then if you known what keycodes are, to discover then use:

# xev

And add the keycode to your file that should be in /etc/X11/xinit/xmodmaps/

Another option is to configure in your window manager ...

Actually, I have a very similar question for you all...

On my keyboard there is a key with Fn on it (below enter, to the right of right-shift). It doesn't come up at all with xev... it also has no function under Windows. Any ideas as to why I have this key, and how I might use it? (I want to assign it to right-shift as well since I keep hitting it by mistake and it's annoying me).

Some keyboards have that key for internal functions, like one we got here: that key is used to change the radio channels used or activate the numpad, so it's betters to have a look at the manual if you have one ...

But maybe its possible to configure it if the keyboard generate scancodes with it ...
to check, use outside X the command:

# showkey --scancode

Cheers. Just tried it. No joy. Must be an internal thing. It's an RF keyboard, and it does send to the rf-bud (the little receiver thingy - the light flashes), but it appears not to have a scancode, keycode or keymapping. Hey ho. Thanks anyway.
