xinetd conflict with mysqld

I'm sure I just have something set up a little wrong here, but whenever I restart xinetd my mysqld socket gets trashed and I have to restart mysqld. Anyone know what's going on here? mysqld is stand-alone, and there's nothing in the xinetd config files related to it, so I'm really not sure what's going on here.

Are you 100% sure NOTHING in /etc/xinetd.d is related to MySQL ? I would recommend you double check that ... and if it's really nothing related there post again :-)

I did some looking around, but I didn't see anything that would connect the two. I'm not quite sure where to look though.
