I recently installed xine and the Xv libraries onto my Red Hat 7 platform. Everything seemed to install ok, but the problem comes when I try to open zine. I open it in X windows and it seems to start up but then when it starts "benchmarking" as it says in the terminal window, it gets an illegal instruction and shutsdown. Any advice as to why this could be happening?
You might want to try running it from the command line. Normally most programs will accept command line parameters, so if, for example, you type xine --help you might be able to disable to benchmarking bit and get on with the DVD playing.
no way to disable benchmarkl afaik, i tried to fiddle with that earlier, always just segfauls, v0.9 and 0.5. 0.9 won't even start. Xmovie is just as usuless in my experience.. ahh well
