[root@localhost root]# xawtv
This is xawtv-3.81, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.20-8)
/dev/video0 [v4l]: no overlay support
v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway

i think its my screen i have a 14" old screen
the system dont recognize it.
is it xfreeconfig thin'
or v4l-cof ????!

what should i do
on gnome netmeeting also every thing work fine
and i dont get errors
just i can see myself with the cam

any ideas?

This is only a semi educated guess but does xawtv need DRI support? DRI is the Direct Rendering Infrastructure that gives XFree86 direct access to the graphics hardware. Check out this page for more information.
I could be very wrong.
