I've been using xawtv for awhile now and everything worked great, i just
switched linux distros (redhat 7.3 -> suse 8.0). Redhat i could compile
and use xawtv with no problems, i also used the deinterlace plugin and
that just made things even better. Suse 8.0 came with xawtv, but of
course without the deinterlace plugin. I've been trying to compile the
latest version, 3.76, with and without patching it with deinterlace.diff
file. I've even tried every xawtv version on xawtv's site. I
keep getting this error after i type make (it compiles everything till
it gets here),

Been in a few linux irc channels and tried a few suggestions,
--without-alsa being one of them, but it didn't work. Currently the suse
xawtv that came with the system works fine, but i need to patch the
source code so i can use the xawtv plugin. I can watch tv with the
current xawtv rpm's from suse (version 3.72-60), but i just want to use
the deinterlace plugin.
