X11 startup commands

I run Slack into runlevel 3, login into my user and then manualy start X via `startx`.
I have to do mouse settings (`xset m 2/3`) every time X starts, so I was wondering is there a file like rc.d, where you put commands, which are executed at X startup time?

You put commands in xorg.conf?
Maybe it would be easier if I just find the option for the mouse speed and stuck it into xorg.conf
I want to understand what is the situation with the startup commands. If I want to run gkrellm after startx? Or something like that.

Commands there are executed before I login and do `startx`.

I think you want ~/.xinitrc
Although in Debian at least, if you have something in .xinitrc you have to run a window manager in it; X will exit as soon as .xinitrc finishes. It's possible that Slackware is set up differently, I haven't used it in a while.

I think editing ~/.xinitrc could work as long as you don't change window managers as xwmconfig overwrites ~/.xinitrc.

Perhaps a better idea would be to edit startx so it runs xset?
