X windows re-direction
 

Situation:
I use linux at work and at home. I have window of a program open at work (eg, oowriter). I want to work on that document over ssh from home, but, for example, I haven't pressed the "save" button in oowriter, or I have firefox with a load of tabs open that I want to continue working with from home.

How can I redirect the display to my home computer from my work computer, so as to continue using it as I left it at work? Is it at all possible?

Use VNC. You might have to configure it somehow to bind to the native display instead of starting a new display.
