X server/ kde help

Ok well ive been complaining that my lcd does not work underlinux well ive found a ditrobution called
KNOPPIX and its kick ass and it set up x and everything.In redhat i cant figure out how to get it to work...i dont know the model and version of the lcd.So now if i copied the XF86Config file over to the redhat partition would it fix my wows?

i would have just used knoppix but its a cd bootable os.(no hd)

It might do. Make a backup copy of your RH XF86Config file first. Be warned, though, you will need to make sure that RH runs either the same or a newer version of X, and that they both have the same names for their drivers, and you may need to tweak the file anyway. My advice: Give it a go.

ok well thats what i will do when ihave my other linux computer tomm or day after.
