This semester for uni I will have to be using linux quite a lot so I decided to try and get it to work under VMWare. The reason behind using VMWare is because I know I will spend a lot more time in linux if I still have access to my windows programs.

The version of linux I am using (ADIOS -http:/ /dc.qut.edu.au/adios/) has been developed by my uni and is based on the Fedora 1 core. The reason they made it is to enable students to run linux at home without screwing up their computers as you can just run it off the CD if you want to.

My problem is that in VMWare just before the login screen would come up I get an error saying INIT: id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes.

It works fine when I'm running it directly on the computer. The version of VMWare I am running is 4.0.5 build 6030 for windows.

Your video card or the driver is not compatible. If you forced installation and did work and then crashed then that is the issue.
