I have been trying to get X up and running in Slackware for a week now. Everytime I solve one problem I find another one. My hardware is pretty basic. I have a built in intel vid card, gateway EV500 monitor. I have always depended on RedHat to set X up for me. I tried booting into knoppix and saving that XFree86 config file over my own. Turns out I cant boot knoppix. It just freezes and I have to pull the power cord. So I reinstall RH and try it that way. No such luck. Can someone help?
well can you actually supply us with the problem, other than simply "you can't get X running"?
what errors are you getting?
what have you already tried ?
