X Error

Hi

Whenever I start X from the console, I get this error, even though X does start:

dircolors: `/etc/DIR_COLORS': No such file or directory

I get the same error if I start xterm after logging into X.

Does anyone know why I get it, and how to fix?

THanks

look in your home directory at .bashrc and .bash_profile ( The dots are inmportant ).

Theres probably a lines like

eval `dircolors -b`
alias ls='ls --color=auto'

or similar thats screwed up. Post the line with /etc/DIR_COLORS here so we can see whats wrong.
