Wrong time in windows after installing Linux/Ubuntu

After linux installation,the clock in windows displays the wrong time,i think the time moves too fast. it doesn't have to do with the time zone settings or anything like that. Even if i change the time in bios, it still happens. The weird thing is that the clock displays the right time in linux. Also after i synchronize with the government's time, it gets fixed but after a restart it screws up again.

Any help would be appreciated.

It does the same thing in my laptop install. However my experience tells that it has to do with the time-zone selected when installing Ubuntu. My time is always 7 hours difference after a restart. I've never bothered to fix it.

I'm just guessing here, but maybe your boot loader is doing it?

I dunno, but how can it be related to the boot loader?

I was just thinking it might set or the time zone. You said even if you change it in the BIOS it's still not right in windows. After the BIOS it passes to the boot loader which passes it to windows. I was just thinking that if everything was OK in the BIOS and everything was OK in windows then it might be the boot loader.

Also, make sure windows time service is running:

start>run>"services.msc">right click: windows time>start then >properties>set to automatic

ok ppl i found the solution on this web site.
http://tebl.homelinux.com/laptop/#q004

Microsoft Windows 2000/XP has an incorrect implementation of the way it saves it's time to the BIOS when shutting down while Ubuntu does not have this error. The error is caused by Windows writing the local time when it should be writing the GMT instead - this will make it seem as if hours have been subtracted or added, depending on your timezone, when you boot back into Windows after using Ubuntu Linux. The solution is described in the Unofficial Ubuntu Starter Guide, but since the fix is so short I'll include it here as well.

To fix the error you should edit the file called "/etc/default/rcS", find and alter the variable called UTC so that it reads as following:

UTC=no
