Being a mandy fan (the linux distro that is!) I know for a fact the simple way of changing the time is to use the mandrake control center - under system, date and time.

You may want to check your hardware clock (in the bios) is also set to the correct time.

If you have NTP (Network Time Protocol) installed you can use ntpdate to set you date/time from a network time server on the Internet.
Code:

# ntpdate tick.usno.navy.mil
 5 Apr 21:55:24 ntpdate[29101]: adjust time server 209.81.9.7 offset 0.005845 sec

ntpdate is best for only occasional use.

The more servers you query with ntpdate the better accuracy you will get. One is usually good enough for me. You can get lists of public ntp servers with a bit of googling.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:45 PM.
