Wow Look at what I was able to do in a week with linux!

Hello Eveyone I am very new to linux and havn't got a clue about it! I happen to be on the web one day with my MS Op system and started poking around with this free op systems and decided to download a distro of Red Hat 8.0 an wow I am impressed!

One of the key things that helped me was searching these forums and the various sites on the best way to configure this system. Thanks guy's for this great site! Also I might add that this great add on rpm Webmin This graphical web base administration suite is for your entire linux box!!! You would not believe the stuff you can configure on your box with this and fast and to the point it even has a module that will search for thouse hard to find documents of help on your hardrives!!!!

So if you want to see what I did with my linux box go to my web site at http://miketest.homeunix.net or you can Click Mike's Red Hat 8.0 Pro Server

Thanks hope my site helps you guy's out oh and by the way it took me about 1 week and no knowlege of linux to set this up pretty cool uh!

Glad to hear your having fun with it. It really is a great OS, once you get past how intimidating it can be.

I'm able to connect to it, but all the ads are distracting, and the colors are a little blah, if you can come up with a more attractive layout you'll be set.

Wow, running Linux for a week and already have a hosting company using it ??

Not to sound rude but this sounds like a walking advertisement, especially how you were all about in asking if KnightAbel was actually able to get to your site.

No Not trying to advertise my Hosting Company

Sorry I just thought it would be nice to put al link to it in my site Again if you notice it's second on the list and LinuxQuestions.org is first I figure if people are looking for a linux/unix hosting solution thats cheep and really really relibable then why not?

I was just asking if he can connect to my site as I am using a dynamic dns service as I can't run my own because I don't have a static IP to my box yet! I just wanted to make sure people can connect to share my story thats all I want to share with people my experience with my purchase of Red Hat that all.

Other company's all over the web advertise on sub site's all the time I really don't mean to trick or offend anyone as I say again the main purpose for my site is for linux users of Red Hat 8.0 Distro as my hosting company is totally a diffrent thing and on remote dedicated server with another company.

Michael Gallagher

P.S Any Color change's anyone could suggest?
