word processing

Got a question, I've seen this done before but I can't remember how:

Say I've got a file(like a .conkyrc) and it has some color codes in it(maybe a4b08c) and I'd like to change them all with one command. How can I do this?

Thanks for any input, I appreciate it!

Milo

Should have just read man sed, and a simple tutorial. There's also a post a few down on this very forum in which the same question has been asked.

Something like

Code:
sed 's/a4b08c/newcolorcode/g' .conkyrc
should do it.
