wireshark 0.99.4 + not able to click "stop"

Hey guys for I dont know how long now, but i was never EVER able to click the STOP button in wireshark to stop packet capturing, i have tried compiling from source without portage and with portage and they both give the same results. I have recently decided to debug the stupid thing to see what the STOP button outputs and funny thing is it outputs NOTHING. ill show u guys the gdb output:

Code:
[root@ke3d:/home/toof]$ gdb wireshark
GNU gdb 6.4

<---- this is where i was trying to click STOP to stop the packet capture but nothing So i just closed the program by clicking X.
Program exited normally.
(gdb)

Iam completely stumped with this, not even debugging it outputs anything!

Has anyone ran into this type or problem or heard of it?

Thanks!!
