WINE and EAC
Hey guys... I'm trying to get Exact Audio Copy (CD extraction tool) working under WINE in Ubuntu. The program starts up fine, but it can't detect the CD. I don't know what to do to make it see the CD, it obviously works fine in Windows.
Thanks for any help. |
I had the same problem, then I discovered the Linux alternatives- Grip (my fav), KAudiocreator, SoundJuicer - they all use cdparanoia as the backend. cdparanoia is the Linux equivalent of EAC.
If you're looking to simply copy CDs, K3b uses cdparanoia to rip before burning as well. |
I already know about Grip. I wanted EAC because while CDParanoia is good, EAC is thught to be the best CD ripper, bar none. I've used Grip in the past and it's good, as long as the CD isn't damaged/scratched any, that's where EAC is very useful.

ok well I got it to detect the CD, but now freedb doeasn't recognize the CD, so I'm forced to input the ID3 tags by hand. Anyone know what's wrong now?
