Angry Windows Quake2 CD and Linux Binaries

I have the Quake 2 and Quake 3 CDs for windows and I found out that you can get binaries for q2 and q3 on line for use with Linux. I folowed the instructions on www.linuxquake.com (under the how-to section) and when I try and "./quake2" I get the "no file or directory" error. I *know* the file is there -but forsome reason Linux doesnt. I did a search here and someone said that different distros needed different files. Im running Slackware 8.1 -does anyonw know where I can the bins for this distro? I Googled it but diddnt get anything
so what now ?

go to ftp://idsoftware.com and look around in there for q3linuxpointrelease1.31.run (or something like that) and my problem was there was a section in XF86Config that was commented out (modules section) called GLX ,just uncomment that. Next get nv_check (I deleted it so I cant remember the name) and run it to check your system to see if the drivers are set correctly. Thats all I had to do
Good Luck
