Windows Manager Question
I have Mandrake 9.1 and I want to run Gnome and Enlightment. I would prefer to run enlightment on top of gnome BUT when I go to the gnome control panel there is no setting to let me change the windows manager anywhere?!? Not even under advanced.
So, question #1: How do I change my windows manager in Gnome to Enlightenment? Right now I have gnome-panel starting up when I run enlightenment by editing the .xinitrc and .xsession files in my home directory. When the computer boots up it works fine BUT when I log out and go to the log in manager and then try to log back in with enlightenment it doesn't start with the scripts I discrbed above in my home directory because it doens't start the gnome-panel. So, question #2: What script does the log in managers run when you start your windows manager/desktop? Thanks! |
The Display Managers use xinitrc files like:
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.kde /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.gnome /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.fbox /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.wmaker |
