windows disappeared

I was installing suse 9.1 prof on my friends comp who has windows installed
the windows is on /dev/hdb7 and the linux on /dev/hdb3

I tried adding the lines to the following file but no use.

title windows 
        root (hd0,0)  (i also tried root(hd0,6))
        make active   (i tried both with and without this)
        chainloader +1
the following is the file /boot/grub/menu.lst

Hi, here is the entry I use, it's for xp which is on the first partition of my first hard drive

title Microsoft Big Brother
	rootnoverify (hd0,0)
	chainloader +1
I think the rootnoverify is needed. You also may need to do a "makeactive". Also, I'm not sure if windows has any issues if it's not on the first partition or not.. You can actually hide other partitions from it.

hide (hd0,0)
hide (hd0,1)
